Frequent disconnects in DWC
-
Hello,
I have an official Duet 2 WiFi for several years, and recently (a week ago) I started having a problem - DWC frequently falls and shows "Connection lost: host is unreachable". I have provided the dedicated IP address for the Duet MAC, but it didn't help.
When that happens, I see an error:
GEThttp://192.168.0.200/rr_download?name=0:/sys/oem.json [HTTP/1.1 404 file not found 75ms] XML syntax analysis error: root element is not found Address: http://192.168.0.200/rr_download?name=0:/sys/oem.json Line 7, symbol 1:
Also, the hotend cooling fan started to stop at certain places (not sure, are those issues linked). Fan MOSFETS were replaced about 3 months ago.
What could be an issue in that case? It is pretty annoying because disconnect often happens during the first commands, and when connectivity restores - I cannot anymore set baby stepping.
PS: printer itself works even during the lost connection.

@skayred what firmware version?
-
Hello @jay_s_uk !
Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later
Firmware Version: 2.04 (2019-11-01b1)
WiFi Server Version: 1.21
Web Interface Version: 1.22.6 -
@skayred I know there were a number of improvements made to the wifi handling in 1.23. So maybe consider upgrading to 2.05.1 and 1.23 of the wifi server
-
@jay_s_uk I can try it, but those network faults might brick my Duet, I think. Also, the same version worked well before, so I am wondering, why it behaves like that
-
@skayred why would they brick your duet?
And you won't get much support for a firmware that's very out of date -
@jay_s_uk okay, I will try to update the firmware and see, will it help
-
@skayred perhaps there is something else using the 2.4GHz frequency band that wasn't before, e.g. a cordless telephone, baby alarm, leaky microwave oven, or neighbour with a new router. If that's the case then changing the WiFi channel that your router uses may help. There are smartphone apps that will tell you what channels the routers close to you are using.

@dc42 hello, sorry for the late reply. I have managed to install the latest firmware and Web Control, also tried to assign the static IP to the Duet - some of those measures seems to help.
