duet 2 wifi all lights on and cpu getting hot
-
I was reflashing the firmware on my Duet 2 wifi to give it a static IP. the board rebooted and as soon as it booted all of the lights came on and the cpu started getting very hot. it also would not display anything on the connected paneldue. Is there anything that i can do to fix this. i did order a new fan fuse as it looked like it had blown at some point.
Thank you for any help in advance.

Can you work through this guide and tell us how far you get?

Did you have USB and the power supply connected at the same time when flashing the firmware?
-
I was flashing the firmware through the web control so i only had power connected. I couldnt get past "Check the voltage indication LEDs" without a problem. I removed the 12v power and plugged in via USB. the 5v and 3.3v both lit up but the diag light was on permanently. I removed the sd card as it suggested and hit the reset button but nothing happened. the cpu still got very hot while plugged in to only USB.

Please try going through the process to flash the firmware with BOSSA. Hopefully that recovers it.

i tried every available usb port on my computer. it never showed up as "duet 3d printer electronics" or "bossa". the only thing that showed up in device manager was a "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)".

When and where did you purchase the Duet?
-
I bought it from matterhackers in early september 2021.
-
And you used the erase jumpers to clear the firmware to get it to show as a BOSSA port?
-
Ive jumped the erase pins and the held the reset button and nothing changed. it still shows up as "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed).
