I have a duet 3 6HC that was working great until today when I noticed the CAN was not syncing and I could access the web interface. I tried YAT, and could connect to COM6 - Unknown Device but sending M115 did not give a response. I tried flashing Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin with Bossa, and the upload completed and verified, but I still cannot communicate with it in YAT. Also I notice the status led is very dim. I'm not sure what to try next.

@p8blr the status light being dim normally means that it does not have valid firmware loaded. After you used the reset jumper to get the Bossa port to appear on the PC, did you remove the jumper before flashing it? If you flash it with the jumper still in place, flashing will fail silently.

@dc42 I connected it to the pc, connected the jumper, disconnected the jumper, and pressed reset. Then I flashed it.

Strangely enough, I reconnected my 24V supply and the dim status light started blinking at full brightness and I was able to connect to it with YAT. I guess none of the usb ports on my laptop had enough current?

@p8blr after you finished flashing it the first time, did you press the reset button again, or power down and up again? The new firmware won't run until the processor is reset.

@dc42 I can't say for sure, but that's something I'll keep in mind for next time. Thanks.

@p8blr I'm glad it's working again. I'll mark this as solved.
