Hi, I've got a 7i that I received a while back as part of a Railcore build. It's on firmware 1.24 according to the settings page. The panel works fine, I just want to update firmware for all the good reasons one does that sort of thing from time to time :).

My Duet3 controller is on 3.4.5, and I'd like to update the panel to the 3.4.1 firmware. I've tried uploading the firmware into the firmware directory and selecting Install Firmware File per instructions (https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/Updating_PanelDue).

This errors out early with "Error: Failed to communicate with PanelDue bootloader (no START signal received). Please try again or press the Erase and Reset switches on PanelDue."

      Two questions:
      (1) Is this expected behavior with this combination of display, controller, and firmware(s)?
      (2) Is the Erase+Reset going to work, or do I just need to break out the USB cable (and crack open the case holding this panel)?

      Thanks!

      Rob

Yes, try it. If it can't flash it from there, you would need to use the USB cable and bossa to flash it at least once to get it to a modern version which works with flash from DWC.

@paralepsis yes you need to use the PanelDue Erase and Reset buttons to upgrade PanelDueFirmware from version 1.x.

@dc42 Pressing two buttons worked great, was able to flash from web UI. Thanks all!

I've got TWO of the same 7i panel. One for my Railcore ZL and another the ZLT.
Can you list the steps to do this upgrade?
