Duet 2 relocation and necessary enclosure parts.
-
Greetings.
I possess a CNC machine equipped with the Duet 2 controller. The manufacturer of my CNC has positioned the controller within the x-gantry, but I am not fond of this arrangement. I desire to relocate the Duet away from the gantry and place it in a dedicated enclosure. Currently, I have one power supply for the Duet controller and one emergency switch. Since I lack proficiency in electronics, I am uncertain if there are any additional equipment requirements for effectively moving the controller.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. As long as you have everything reconnected after moving the control board you should be fine.

@DigitalElf I suggest you check what stepper motor current is being set. If it's more than 2000mA then you should consider using a fan to cool the Duet - see https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Duet_2_family/Duet_2_WiFi_Ethernet_Hardware_Overview#cooling. Otherwise I can't think of any reason not to move the Duet if you take the usual precautions, e.g. use thick enough wires for the current they carry, and for those wires that go between static and moving parts restrain the cable at both ends to avoid it being flexed at the connectors.
