Smart Effector Wire Recommendations?
-
I am apparently not very skilled when it comes to selecting and preparing the wires for my board. I have a new Smart Effector v4.0 that I'm trying to wire up to an old Duet3D (1.2 I believe). The wires need to be long as it's for a tall delta printer and they need to reach all the way up and over, so probably like 7ft.
I had some 18awg wire sitting around but it was too big for the supplied connectors. I bought some 6-conductor cable at the hardware store, 22awg, which fit the crimp connectors well but it turned out to be really brittle - after crimping with a rachet tool, it kept snapping off as I was inserting the crimped connectors into the housing.
Does anyone have a recommendation on AWG (for both the sensor cables and the hot end + fan cables), and better yet a brand of wire that isn't brittle and holds up under motion? Multiple conductors in a single sleeve would be nice but isn't a strict requirement. Thank you!

@c4tn1p I use two lengths of this https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/twisted-pair-multicore-data-cable/6604052. One is for the 8-pin connector, the other for the 6-pin connector with two conductors in parallel used for each of the heater wires.
It is essential to provide strain relief for these cables. I printed this SmartEffectorStrainRelief2.3mf and used zip ties to secure the cables to the top.
