      Hello,

      I am using a Duet 6HC to control a custom 3D-printer.

      I am trying to control a pressure controller, which requires 5V signals. I would like to use the 5V_ext pin from one of the IOs. However, measuring it (5V_ext to GND) shows OL. The 12V derived internal 5V seems to working (red status light).

      Now, I am wondering if the 5V_ext pin only supplies 5V if an external 5V power supply is connected?

      Thanks in advance!

      Best, Felix

        @FelixUCF

        I seem to recall there is a jumper that determines what appears on that pin.

        Did you check it?

          @FelixUCF which version 6HC board do you have?

          The 5V_ext supply on the IO_ connectors of the 6HC is derived from the main 5V supply through a diode. Older 1HC boards that do not support 48V VIN also have a PTC fuse in that circuit. The 5V_ext voltage on the IO_ connectors will be missing if either the diode or the fuse is open circuit.
