    Hi all πŸ™‚

    I'm a very satisfied cosumer of duet, I love it..

    Now I want to try to install the nema 17 with encoder on my 3d printer, only on X and Y axes, but I've not idea what I must do it..

    Someone have an idea? πŸ˜„

          Has there been an attempt to make a stepper servo type system using duet? There must be enough processing power to monitor the encoder and close the positioning loop. Whether it really gains you anything in 3d printing is debatable but it would be interesting to be able to test it with some dual shaft steppers and encoders. I have dual shaft steppers on my corexy a and b motors.

            I am using Teknic Clearpath servos https://www.teknic.com/products/clearpath-brushless-dc-servo-motors/ on my core x/y they are great, super smooth and quiet, very quiet! They don't close the positioning loop but they don't skip. Extreme overkill for a 3d printer. I upgraded my other core x/y (Nema 17 steppers) to Duet WiFi and it is almost as smooth and quiet. I am very satisfied with the Duet board and optical sensor, beautiful prints and can't hear it operating. I plan on upgrading the printer with Clearpath servos from the Rambo with B/L Touch to Duet WiFi with the optical sensor, the ultimate combination.

              Just wanted to add the Clearpath servos are programmable and can sense current with alarm output. I haven’t tried it yet but it may be possible to use this for endstop sensing. Future project.

                  I don't know what you are asking for, I have a short project in hackaday.io search for "CoreXY 3D Printer using servos"

                    Do you have only use your clearpath how a normal nema 17? Or you have must to do a modify the firmware?
