tl;dr (tl;didn't write) : I have stepper motor vibration issues producing very similar results to https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=4575.
I want to explore the available parameter space, can I do a tower that varies the stepper motor microstepping, steps/mm and current in one gcode file while printing continues or do I need to do more to get the changes to take effect?

After changing microstepping you need to re-home the axes concerned.
