How do i turn the hotend on to heat it?

I have bed working fine, heats to 55C by simply setting it in the webui, I set the active tmp and up it goes and controls well.
When I do the same with the hotend it does not heat. There is 24V at E0 vin and 24v at E0- The web ui just says off (T0)so ive missed something?

Ah I had to select the tool, its off and heating now! cool I might be able to get the filament out of the hotend!
