TEVO Little Monster and bltouch conversion problem

  • I'm not good at electronics and code but apparently I like to hurt myself.

I converted my Tevo LM to duet. I followed the tutorial How to Install a DUET board on Delta Style 3D Printer - The TEVO Little Monster and all went well except that I can not configure the bltouch. I probably misunderstood his tutorial because I'm French and I do not understand English well. Yes, it does a lot of things that I do not understand but ...

I had a lot of problem with the bltouch. I fixed one of the bltouch problems by following this tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq5QmN-MIJA

After fixing this problem I started the calibration and everything went well.

    ![alt text](0_1533151931721_Capture d’écran 2018-08-01 à 19.04.58.png image url)

But at the time of starting the printing, the printer starts again the calibration and starts the printing but the nozzle is about 1mm above. I do not understand why ?

  • Your trigger value (Z0.67) seems a bit too low, try about 1.5

Like this, but you should start with 1.0 for the first try:
    ; G31 P25 X0 Y20 Z0.627 ; Set Z probe trigger value, offset and trigger height
    G31 P25 X0 Y20 Z1.5 ; Set Z probe trigger value, offset and trigger height

  • Thank you for your help, I will try but the few tests I have in Z + and Z- nothing changes

  • @rafb It's a couple of month ago I've used the TLM with the BL-Touch (I'm using a microswitch instead) but I had also this script in my slicer startcode:

    M280 S10.6 ;bl-touch reset
    M280 S3 ;bl-touch pin down
    G30 Z1.55 ;z-probe + distance to BLT !!! higher value -> lower nozzle !!!
    M280 S7 ;bl-touch pin up

    Did you mean G31 Z1.55?

@RafB I'm not a delta user, but doesn't this need to be addressed?

Also I'm not sure if this is correct for a delta or not but seems odd to me at first glance:

    ; Axis Limits
    M208 Z0 S1 ; Set minimum Z

Also, what version of firmware are you using?

  • Just saw your other post here: https://forum.duet3d.com/post/57037

So it looks like the BLTouch is functioning correctly, but your homed height is still off?

Can you try updating your firmware to 2.01? There was a homing height bug that was fixed that may be what is effecting you. You may need to rerun your calibration and mesh grid mapping after updating to clear any residual height errors.

  • To not do too much duplication, I also answered DC42.
