Frequent Wifi disconnection since 2.0.0
-
As the title says, since 2.0.0 I've been getting frequent disconnects. I don't recall getting the issues on the 2.0 betas, but I was also busy with work at the time, so was interacting with the printer a lot less.
It seems to be independent of what the printer is actually doing, it disconnects while idle or printing. The usual pattern is it'll disconnect for a couple of seconds, come back on for a bit, then repeat. It seems somewhat intermittent though, as sometimes it'll go 30+ minutes without a disconnect. My printer or router haven't moved, and are in the same room (and nothing else has moved in the room). Wifi channels are clear several channels either side.
How does the firmware handle multiple APs with the same SSID? There's some overlap with another AP to extend signal elsewhere in the house, both on the same SSID, one on channel 1, one on 11. It's not been an issue before, but maybe the RTOS upgrade changed something.

What version of DuetWiFiServer were you running before you upgraded? We've had several reports of the later versions of DuetWiFiServer holding connections less reliably than earlier versions, and possibly being less compatible with certain routers. We believe the different is due to using a new SDK from the manufacturers of the WiFi chip, which we have to use to get the fix for the KRACK security vulnerability,

@dc42 I was on 1.21 I believe before upgrading. I'm running OpenWRT on all my routers, so once there's builds available for the new v18 release I'll try upgrading to see if that helps.

Are you still running firmware 2.0, or have you installed 2.01 now?

Current versions:
I just updated OpenWRT to 18.06, and it seems OK so far, I'll report back later today if the issues return.
