I bought a Duet 2 Maestro and would like to potentially attach a 0.9amp fan to the controlled fan port. I assume this limit is probably the same for the Duet Wifi. It's for a project for hepa filtration in an enclosure. Is this too much?

Yes it's the same limit. 0.9A is OK provided that the starting current doesn't exceed 3A.

The latest beta firmware allows you to remap a fan to a spare heater output, so if you are not using the E1 heater output you could use that instead.
