I have been trying to get my bed setup with duet for some time
every time i run it i get different different results. none resulting in a good print.
sometimes the probe barely touches the bed and triggers, sometimes it has to push in and i head a clunk.
running magball arms/smart effector with genuine e3d volcano

i have changed it from 20mm probing to 90mm and it didnt improve the results

do you have an led indicating probe-contact? if so, i could imagine, you'll see it lighting up very often. for example due to a vibrating fan.

You may have a bad crimp connection in the signal cable, or the effector may be faulty. Does the green led flash when you tap the tip of the nozzle upwards? Are you using the recommended probing speed in the M558 command?
