M915 warning: command not supported
-
Can't seem to figure out why this is happening. I've set M574 first, figured that might have to do with it, but nope. I'm on the latest firmware 2.02RC3 for maestro.
-
What is the complete M915 line you are trying to use?
-
The TMC2224 drivers on the Duet Maestro do not support stallGuard. That's why the M915 command isn't supported.
-
@dc42 oh. Is there any way to do sensorless homing?

Not on the Maestro. I did see a feature of the TMC2224 in the datasheet that might just make it possible; but it would need a lot of experimentation to see if it can be made to work, and I don't have time for that right now.

@dc42 so, what about detecting extruder jams? There motor skips steps, but the filament moves back and forth so a run out sensor wouldn't work for detecting lack of movement.

The Duet3D sensors are designed to detect that type of fault, because they sense direction of filament movement as well as amount.

@dc42 laser and mechanical both?
