I wired my ATX PSU to the Duet WIFI to be controlled through the web interface, everything works as it should, the only thing is, the red led on the BLTouch stays on when I shut off the power to the ATX through the web interface. Did I do something wrong, or is that just how it works?

I have a duet wifi 2 1.03, genuine bltouch classic.

Apologies if this has been asked already, would appreciate a link to the answer if so, thanks!

It sounds to me that you have connected the external 5V input of the Duet to the 5V standby output of the PSU. That means that the Duet logic circuits and everything powered from the Duet's 5V or 3.3V rail (including the BLTouch) will continue to be powered when shut off power using M81. It's also why after turning the printer off, you can still use the web interface to upload files and turn the printer back on.
