Can't figure out what's causing my XY skipped steps
-
CoreXY - My motors run cool, even at 1400mA. Is it possible they just get overpowered by inertia? I'm never there when it happens.
How can I diagnose it? There aren't messages when it happens. The only time I get messages are if I run current that's too high, and even then they still run cool to the touch.

Which Duet, which firmware, and what is the motor specification?

12v or 24v?
have you configured them in stealthchop or spreadcycle?
what speed are you printing at?
first thing to try is lowering your acceleration and max speed.

24v
It's happening even on slow prints. I finally witnessed it. I just heard a quick CLUNK. The motors are still barely above room temp. I'll try lower acceleration.

@gnydick Update to firmware 2.02, there was a bug fixed after RC7 which could explain this.

@iratecrayons fingers crossed

@gnydick
on slow prints do you also decrease the travel speed? because normally those are separate. -
@veti Yeah, it's all proportional
-
can you try putting all drivers into spreadcycle?
using M569 P[0 till 4] D2
