When sending a gcode is it stored on the sd card or is it being send across the wifi. My concern is if I'm running a large print and I lose wifi. Will the printer stop? And will I be able to resume after connection is restored. I currently do not have a panelduet.

If you are uploading the gcode via the DWC and printing from there, then gcode will be printed from the SD card.

The default mode of operation does not allow a "file" to be "printed" via wifi. Instead, as Phadrux indicated, the file is transferred to the SD card in the printer, and then, as a separate operation, printed from there.

Dropping WiFi during a print has no effect on the print itself.
