I am just starting to setup the BL Touch on my Duet Wifi 1.04. From what I can find in the docs and on the web, I have gleaned the following. I just want to make sure I am not miss-understanding.

      1. Because I am using the 1.04 board, I do not have to cut the trace to reduce the voltage from 5v to 3v3.
      2. the two wire plug )white and black) should go to the z probe connector pins In and Gnd (1 and 2 from left) respectively.
      3. there is no direct plug for the three wire and it's leads must be connected to the 50 pin connector with the 5v going to pin 1, the control (pwm) going to pin 31 and the gnd going to pin 2.

I don't always trust myself to read this correctly so a bit of confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

I think you've got it right.

It may still be wise to cut the trace. It may depend on what version of the BLTouch as well.

The control wire can go to various pins, you can choose any of the additional heater outputs on the expansion connector. Our standard instructions use pin 8, see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe#Section_Duet_2_WiFi_Ethernet_without_a_Duex_2_or_Duex_5_expansion_board.
