Edit g code in the directory

I'm not sure how hard this is to do, but if I wanted to adjust temperature or view the g code, it would be cool to pull it up without having to open a slicer and reload a modelor manually override a setting as it's called up by the g code. Maybe it wouldn't be all that useful, but it would be cool, and easier to share a g code with a forum for troubleshooting.

AFAIK there isn't a way to do this via the web interface but a gcode file is just a text file so it's pretty easy to make minor changes with any text editor. I do it quite a lot and have also written a couple of python scripts to do some more serious changes. For minor changes such as tools or temperatures, I use notepad++. It's free.

well, your macros are just a gcode text and you can do that via interface, is it any different to do it with a g code print?
it would save the time of loading, and uploading a file to the interface.

Only issue with trying to edit the g-code files on the web interface would be the size of the g-code files might be way too big for the editor that they use to edit config files and macros. I know some of my gcode files are in the 20-30MB range.

Good point. I have one that's 105MB and I don't suppose that is any sort of record.

Is that the g code file or the stl file? I have a 49mb partial moon stl that converted to 2.19mb of g code.
It's still a valid point though, that might be an issue

That was G-code. I downloaded Pascal from Thingiverse for my daughter. The STL file was ~20MB, the sliced G-code with support was ~32MB.

Well, I'd assume(dangerous to do so) if a file was to big to edit, it would show an error-too big message and no harm done. I guess the question would be how big a file can the editor view.
By the way, that's a huge file!
