I am using a Duet2Wifi (version 1.04) with a Duet Expansion Breakout Board to run external steppers in a CNC machine. All is good, except one thing:
I am one I/O short as I need 7 I/Os to run endstops, zero setting tool and an x-y finder. Now, I see with the Duex there are 2/5 more I/Os available. However, on the Expansion Breakout Board they are not available. Can I just solder cables to the bottom of Pin2 and Pin4 to make E2_STOP available or cutting the ribbon cable on these two pins? Does that have an impact on the functionality of the Expansion Breakout Board?

@dc42 Thanks for the reply. So I will put it directly to the power supply with an 3A inline fuse.

I am about to wire a Duet 3 1LC Tool Board to a Duet 3 Mini 5+ and have one question regarding power wiring.

In the doc sectiont CAN Connection "Connecting WITHOUT Duet 3 Tool Distribution Board" under Duet 3 Mini 5+ it advises to wire to power supply and have a inline fuse. Can I also connect to OUT 0 of the Duet 3 Mini 5+ and do I need an inline fuse then? As far as I understand OUT 0 is fuse protected, right?
