I've never ran PID auto tune on either version. When I was running 2.02, it was able to hold temperature quite well, so I never went further with it. I reran the config tool with PID with the added M501 at the end but still get

Error: Heater 0 fault: temperature rising much more slowly than the expected 1.0°C/sec

    • RRF3.1.1 heat bed not heating fast enough vs RFF2.02

      Duet Web Control 3.1.1
      Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.23
      Board: Duet 2 (revision 1.04)
      Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 3.1.1 (2020-05-19b2)

      PSU (500W, 24V, 1yr 3months old): MEAN WELL RSP-500-24

I recently upgraded from 2.02 to 3.1.1 and my heat bed is now throwing heater fault for being too slow. I used the config tool and tried PID and Bang Bang and neither heated the bed fast enough from 26C and set to 50C.

I tested the voltage from the duet to my mosfet and to the bed and were at ~24V and during the brief heating cycle my smart plug was reporting ~360W being used (I usually see ~400W's). When I used 2.02 about a month ago for my last print it was working fine. I'm not sure why there's a ~2 amp deficit going to the heat bed, but that is causing my prints to not start (I always have my heat bed on for prints).

      My config.g just in case:
