Cannot get the green led on the smart effector to active.
-
Any help is appreciated. I am very new to this so dumb it down as much as possible please. I have AKLP with a Duet 2 WiFi and a Smart Effector.
I can get it to go through the motions of bed leveling (about 3cm above the bed but that is another problem for later lol) but the z probe will not register contact if I touch the nozzle.
-
I also have an AKLP with a Duet and a Smart Effector.
The green light on the effector should at least flash if you give the nozzle and upward "sharp tap" with your finger.
Everything else on the effector working? LEDs come on when hot-end heater fan on? For that matter, do both fans work properly?
-
Does the green LED flash when you power up the Smart Effector, if so how many times?
-
@Danal I am only getting the amber led when the hot end comes on. The fans are not powering up and no light when when I tap the nozzle

@dc42 No sir

Sounds like the +3.3V or ground wire to the 8-way connector is broken or connected to the wrong pin on the Duet. Probably a bad crimp connection.

Yep, if the fans won't come on, this is a wiring issue somewhere. Time to check all the connections, voltmeter, continuity, etc.
Also carefully check if wires are in the correct order.

@Danal Ok I am getting 3.28v at the 8 pin connector on top of the effector and the same reading on the 3.3v and GND pins those connect to under the effector.
-
@dc42 I checked the pins on the bottom side of the effector that connect to the 3.3v and GND and got 3.28v

In that case, if the LED is not flashing a few times a few seconds after power up, I suggest you ask for your Smart Effector to be replaced under warranty.

Ok thanks for the help
