Ender 5 PLUS Y-Stepper Maestro

What is concerning me a bit is that the Ender 5 Plus has an big and beefy 42x48 Y Stepper motor (for both Y-belts). Sadly I could not find out the model or current rating of the stepper motor.
Is the 1.6 Amp PEAK rating of the Maestro enough for this big stepper motor or should I stay with duet wifi?Impossible to say without knowing more about the stepper motor. You could measure its phase resistance, then look for other bipolar stepper motors with similar size and phase resistance on e,g omc-stepperonline, to get an idea of the rated current.
Also the Ender 5 Plus has an 4.3 inch touch display, does somebody know if this is by chance compatible to Paneldue?
Probably not. But if it's the MKS one that I suspect it is, it talks GCode so it may be possible to get it to work, although at present that would need a firmware change. Caution, it likely uses 5V signal levels, so you would need to use a couple of resistors to shift its output pin level down to 3.3V.

Weird, I was looking at E5+ and it looks like it has exactly the same X and Y steppers as regular E5 (NEMA 17, 42x42mm 40mm long for Y and 30mm long for X) ... I run them with 0.8A from duet without problem and they are cold, I recently upgraded E5 to duet so this is still in testing phase I will be upping the current till they start to get warm

I've yet to see PRC made printers with NEMA 17 that require more then 1.8A .. usually when they need more they jump to nema 24 or 32.. but would be cool to see for sure what's on E5+

Ok thank you both!
I will ditch the Idea of using the stock 4.3 Inch display as I want it all to just simply work.
What would be the maximum Amp rating for the Maestro drivers to "comfortably" use it at all (probably not max it out right?) and how much with StealthChop still working fine?
I heard that high current doesn't work so well with StealthChop (gets louder) and if that is the case, is the Duet3 because of its much higher current capable drivers able to push high current steppers much better while StealthChop enabled? (quieter and more torque compared to Maestro?)
-
btw note that for steppers the LONGER stepper gives same torque then sorter one at LOWER current!! so if E5+ went with longer nema17 (you mentioned 48mm, that's longer then one on e5 that's 40) it probably uses same current as E5 one as it will, on same current, deliver lot more torque for that 20% more length..
as for the screen, it is some touch screen, probbly mks or something similar connected to creality board via serial port .. I really dislike those mks boards as they over-complicate things (darn thing stores z offsets in the screen !?!?! and overwrites one you put into firmware) .. better sell the whole package (creality board + lcd) and use paneldue if you really need lcd on the printer, or octoprint+octoprintTFT .. (if you like octoprint and all the plugin power)

- if you use a Maestro board, it supports 12864 displays. I believe the Creality one is special and requires at least a 180 degrees turned connector (see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/Ender+3+Pro+and+Duet+Maestro+Guide+Part+1:+Wiring/37#s120).
- if the Touch screen is a TFT28/32 clone, there is an incomplete implementation speaking paneldue but it has been abandoned by the original authoe (https://github.com/robotsrulz/MKS-TFT). I dimly remember it needs some fixes to work with recent versions of RRF (reply length buffer or somesuch).
In the end, if you value your time over money, a paneldue board is probably the best solution for an ondevice screen.

the ender 5 plus has a different lcd that the ender 5 and 3.

I went through the various options because I wasn't sure what display is on the 5+

Got an answer from Creality, its set to 0.9 - 0.94 amps, thats probably the value that is set in the stock Mainboard and the value I would set in the Duet firmware.
Is this current to high for StealthChop to be quiet or is this fine?

that current is fine for the tmc2208. the voltage is more important. For stealthchop2 you want 24V.
