DWC2 half connected?
-
Quite often I find DWC2 sort of greyed out (well have in dark mode so don't know if it's gray!) It may say it's connected and can see the temperatures flickering but am unable to use any of the controls. Usually get impatient and just reload the page at which point everything comes to life. Thought I'd come to understand it after a while but still have no clue. What is going on?

there is a new mechanic in osx which suspends the js thread when the tab is not in foreground.
that is what is causing the problem.
try firefox or chrome. -

@themelle yep I get it when I launch DWC 2 for the first time having just powered up the printer and with a new tab always in the foreground: can see the flickering temperatures but can't access the controls so have to immediately perform a page reload.

@themelle
does it work in firefox or chrome? -
Firefox comes up bright and good on first load of the page.
Safari seems to require two loads.
Safari: Version 13.0.4 (15608.4.9.1.3)

No clue about Firefox as I don't use it.Safari JavaScript console says
"WebSocket connection to 'ws://ikossel.local/machine' failed: Unexpected response code: 200"
on opening DWC.(though a HTTP 200 does not seem like an unusual response code to me)
Maybe @chrishamm has an idea?

The implementation of the "Connecting" dialog (including the annoying gray backdrop) has changed in DWC 2.0.5. I haven't been able to reproduce this bug since then.
