Duet 3 Cooling Fan Location
-
Designing a case for the Duet 3 and wondering if it's recommended to cool the top or bottom of the board? Most of the Duet 2 boards have a fan cooling the underside of the drivers. Is this recommended or should the fan be directed towards the top of the board to cool the CPU and mosfets?
Thanks in advance!

Cool the bottom!
Mount the board vertical as well to get some thermal convection going. -

Unfortunately, the "mounting" and "cooling" sections of that wiki page address the Duet Wifi, Ethernet and Maestro, but not the 3...

I am sure that you will hear from the designer shortly ....

If it helps, I installed a fan to blow air onto the back of the gen 3 board but even when moving my 3kgs plus at high speeds using Nema 23s set to 2.2Amps, none of the driver chips nor the MCU get above luke warm without the fan running. So I've removed the fan as it's completely unnecessary.

Preferably use a fan to blow air along the lines of output mosfets on both sides of the PCB. But unless you are using more than about 3A peak current or a high current bed heater, you probably don't need fan cooling at all.
