Re: I have burned the IC U2

      Hi,

U2 got fried for unknown reasons yet and I replaced it. Its working now but its not the exact same part (pinout match though). The one I have now is only 500mA instead of 1A

Is this enough or do I need to put one to have the full 1A ?

      Thanks,

      J-F

(you might want to add if its a wifi or ethernet board as it might influence the answer)

A 500mA regulator will probably be adequate. Peak current draw when the WiFi module is transmitting will exceed 600mA, but only for short periods.
