Independent Z endstop RRF3
-
Hello All,
I recently read "Independent Z motors and endstop switches" and was excited to see that note that said "It does not apply to RepRapFirmware 3, which supports multiple axis endstop switches directly".
I had not found a followup to this topic that describes whats needed to configure this properly on RRF3 and was hoping to get some help.
I would post my config files but they are a mess with all of the variations that i have tried.
Has anyone set this up and can share what needs to be done?
Thanks,

It's covered briefly at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode?revisionid=HEAD#Section_M574_RepRapFirmware_Num_3.

Thanks for the response ... I did see this and tried to get it to work but i think im just missing a few details.
What might be confusing me is not understanding (because im new to this) what the dif is between the RRF2 vs 3 setup.
Is everything the same as described in your article for RRF2 except M574? For instance does anything change for the homez file and do you still need to add the configuration for the new motor?
Thanks again

No (and it's not my article). With RRF3 you don't need to create additional axes. You just specify the same number of ports in the M574 command as you have specified Z motors in the M584 command, in the same order. Then use a regular G1 H1 Zxxx move to home Z.
