Duet2 Ethernet Network issue

I have the Duet2 Ethernet installed in my Railcore.
I have had some hardware issues which are now resolved and finally getting it ready to move to its correct place.I have a data outlet which is known working with my laptop, but if I plug the duet into it cannot connect to the network.
Using the same cable it works in my laptop.Changed the patch cable with various tested and working cables still no connection.
Opened a brand new 5m and 2m cables, plugged into switch, joined the 2 cables using a RJ45 coupler and plugged into the Duet and it works!
TDM'd both links and there is a 3m difference in length. 7m compared to 10m.
Also checked the config on the switch, green power disabled, known to cause issues with ip audio devices.Are these Ethernet modules on the Duet low power devices and require a short cable run?

Don't think so, but there have been some cases where auto negotiation fails; if you have a managed switch you could try setting a fixed link speed of 10M (or try 100M as well)
