D3+Pi hangs and sometimes won't reset
-
Using Duet 3 6HC and Raspberry Pi 4B, when certain homing moves do not complete, the printer hangs and an "emergency stop" via DWC will not un-hang it. A power cycle, a reboot of the Pi, or a systemctl stop/start of duetcontrolserver is required to unhang it.
Example to reproduce:
- Unplug a NC switch on Y axis. Home Y axis only. Hangs.
- Reset via "emergency stop" button. Messages are received indicating a reset, etc. occured
- Attempt to home X (not Y). Hangs.
Board: Duet 3 MB6HC (MB6HC)
DSF Version: 1.2.4.0
Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 3 MB6HC v0.6 or 1.0 3.0 (2020-01-03b3) -
I've seen the same thing. I think the Duet Control Server looses it's mind in those situations.

Agreed. At the same time, the M999 "passes through" the control server, and it ought to restart itself.

Im having similar issues and also homing can be inconsistent where it will hit the endstop and stop but the unit says it didnt home. My units running DSF 1.1.0.5 works well but anything 1.2 seems to mess up

I had this problem as well, logging into the Pi and restarting the duet software framework service unblocks it.

I think we're all waiting on @chrishamm to get back to work.

same topic,
I disconnected the SBC for the moment to have a more reliable environment.
hope this will be fixed soon.
