Duet repairs in Germany / EU?
-
Hi,
I just managed to kill a driver on my Duet 2 Wifi. Is anyone in Germany or EU equipped to do repairs?Best,

@bearer so that would be you ...
Here's a picture of the damage. I might have managed to burn out traces on the PCB (see dark spots to the left of the drive).

yes and no; we've recently had some new customs rules so it may well be cost prohibitive to send it to me. basically our duty free import limit is now 0 NOK and customs fees start at 165 NOK + VAT for declared value and the international shipping.
But its up to you, return postage is about 70 NOK as regular airmail. And there was another EU option down the tread.
Do you need both E0 and E1? If not I'd just remap my config tbh.

Thanks for the update on the shipping / import tax situation. I'll check the other options...
The machine in question is dual independent z, so unless I change that I'd need the extra driver.
Time to think (-;

I did put an edit in the first post back in march when they announced the new rules that were to take effect april 1st.
I say were to take effect, because of covid 19 it has been pushed back, but no information as to when, meaning you can ship it today and the rules can change tomorrow.

I might just move the board into the DICE which doesn't need the extra driver (it's an external antenna one so the full metal body is no problem), and move the Maestro that currently resides in the DICE into this machine.

Could perhaps get away with buying a tmc2660 in a stepstic format and wire it to the duex expansion header, but not sure if the firmware needs something to identify the duex to allow you to use it.

Btw, in case you didn't see the very last post - I just edited the first post to include an index of the other options. arhi might fit the bill?

Yeah, I'll consider moving the board...
