Unfortunalty is seems like the Duex2 took a hit as well, as I can't get the steppers working there.
Nothing get's hot on the board.
Any idea what could have broke on the Duex2?

Does M115 report that there is a DueX connected? If not then the SX1509B chip has probably failed.

So, is that SX1509B hard to change?

without hotair or low melt solder it'll be tricky - but if you got the wifi module off I guess you might pull it off - however its probably easier to pull toff he relatively small pads of the qnf compared to the wifi.

I have replaced the SX1509B on several DueX boards. A hot air rework station is required. I found that after removing the chip, it helps to use solder wick to remove excess solder from the central pad. Otherwise it may tend to float on that solder, making it harder to get good connections on the surrounding pads.

yeah, i'm still surprised you got the wifi module off with an iron and just some mild discolouration of the board!

@bearer Yeah me to haha, and the WiFi range improved enormously!
BTW, I can't seem to find the SX1509B chip anywhere, I've tried searching for GBA3 1707 12073 (as it says on the component)

Both Digikey and Mouser sell the SX1509B.

It's the SX1509BIULTRT. The BEVK is the evaluation kit for the chip.

@dc42 Finaly got the chance to remove the SX1509B using a hot air station, and today I got my deliver of 2 new chips from Mouser. Do I need an hot air station to solder the chip back on again or could it be done using a regular soldering iron?

The pads are under the chip, so it needs a hot air station.
