    Hi *,

    I still struggle with my fan setup at my Duet2 with a Duex5. I want to connect the tool fan to the Duex5 but I have some issues to find the information how I need to address the ports on it.

    I have this configuration:

    M950 F3 C"duex.fan3" Q500
    M106 P3 S0 H-1

    This seem not to work, not on the first and not on the 3rd connector on the Duex.

    M950 F3 C"fan3" Q500

    Did not work, too.

    Is there a documentation somewhere how I can "talk" to the Duex and how the "names" of all of the connectors are?

    FW 3.1.1 since some minutes. 😉

    Cheers, Chriss

      The pin names are listed at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/RepRapFirmware_3_overview#Section_Pin_names_for_Duet_2_WiFi_Ethernet. Use M115 to check that the DueX has been found by the firmware.

        @dc42

        Jep, the Duex is known, the (still) working BLTouch indicates that as well as:

        FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet FIRMWARE_VERSION: 3.1.1 ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later + DueX5 FIRMWARE_DATE: 2020-05-19b2

        This "fan problem" starts to drive me nuts. First the problem that I do not get it working on Fan1, now not even on Fan3. I think that I have no luck here. 😞

        Cheers, Chriss

          Do you have a jumper on the fan voltage selection pins? IIRC, you must have one fitted on one of the selections in order for the fan pins to be energised.

            Very good point indeed. Yes, I have a jumper to get 12V out.

            The idea is to have 12V out of the Duex while the other fans on the Duet2 work with the 24V. So I can get rid of the bug-down.

            Cheers, Chriss

              @Chriss

              Did you also fit a jumper across the 12V_EN pins to enable 12 V generation?

                Most likely not. The existence of that jumper is now to me, to be honest. 😉

                And I can not find it one the Duet or the Duex, do you have a hint, please?

                Cheers, Chriss

                  @Chriss It's on the duex. See here:

                    Thanks... I was starring to the picture since nearly one hour, I was not able to identify the jumper. The "INT 12V EN" did not make it for me. 😞

                    Anyhow, the Fan is spinning now! 😄 I will wire it up correctly and bind that fan as the hot-end fan. That should be everything for now. The rest is tuning "only".

                    Cheers, Chriss
