Walked in to check on printer and noticed screen was black. The touch screen still beeps if pressed in certain places but no backlight or lcd (when using flashlight). It has been in a case since install (september 2019). I did try reinstall using bossa with no issues except the screen still being off? Looking inside the case, I see no physical component damage. Any ideas or is there a way to get warranty replacement?

@skyzzzzz Sorry your PanelDue is causing you problems. It can be black if there's no firmware, but it sounds like you managed to update the firmware, and the touchscreen works, so most likely the backlight inverter on the panel has failed. Unfortunately, warranty period is 6 months, which you are a bit outside. See https://www.duet3d.com/warranty

I have had a look through the forum, and it seems it's very rare for the 5" PanelDue screen to fail; it's usually the 7" that has problems with backlight inverter. I think you'll need advice from @dc42 on how to test if this has failed, hopefully he'll respond.

The backlight inverter on the 7" is listed here, not sure if it's the same on the 5": https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connector_and_spare_part_numbers#Section_TFT_panel_backlight_inverter_IC

That's for the non-integrated displays. The integrated ones use a different backlight inverter, which seems to be more reliable.

To check whether the problem is the backlight inverter, use a multimeter to measure the voltage across C3, which is in the top right hand corner. On my PanelDue 5i it measures 17.3V.

PS - the backlight inverter chip used on the integrated display is PT4110, this one https://www.buydisplay.com/led-backlight-driver-ic-chip-pt4110-in-sot-89-5-package. Also available on eBay.

across c3 I'm getting 4.6 volts... Anything else to check? I'm assuming this means I need to change out that chip...
