      Hey,

      I was wondering if It is possible to connect an external stepper driver to the Duet 3 6HC via the the IO pins to send the STEP, DIR (maybe ENABLE) signals.

      Greetings
      Daniel

        @schpongo Duet 3 doesn't have direct external Step connectors, the architecture is to use CAN-FD to connect them. There is a board called 1XD for this requirement. Probably more CAN boards to come in the future.
        If you don't want to use an external driver, but only need additional drivers, look for 3HC and 1LC boards, they contain additional TMC stepper drivers.

              Based on a quick search, it seems to me that the 1XD board ist not being sold anywhere in Europe (Germany would be ideal). Are there any hints in the official Duet store opening soon?

              Greetings
              Daniel

                    The 1XD is not yet in production, but will be soon.

                    In the longer term we will have a variant of the Duet 3 main board with ~6 external stepper driver outputs and no on-board drivers.

                      @dc42 is there an approximate estimated time of arrival for the 1XD?

                        @T3P3Tony may have an estimate.
