      Ello all!
Working on building my first custom printer build and I have a question.

I have the Duet3, Toolboard, And Tool Distrubition (on a Hemera) running on 24V. Instead of running two wires from the toolbard (CAN and Power) would anyone advise using just one Cat6 cable? I don't see any reason why not, just wanted the forums input on it.

      Thanks!

the wires in the cat6 are not large enough for carrying the 24v power at the required current.

CAT 6 cable can use 23 or 24 AWG conductors. If you use 23 AWG cable, and you use 2 pairs in parallel to carry the power, and your hot end uses a single 24V 30W heater, then IMO CAT 6 cable should be OK. But don't use RJ45 connectors, because using multiple contacts connected in parallel to carry a lot of current is not advisable.

Normal Cat6 cable sheathe is PVC or similar meant for laying down once and not being moved repeatedly. It will wear down from 3d printer movement and bare your wires. I would suggest using cable that has a different kind of sheathing material.

              Good point, I overlooked that.
