Component on Duet2 Wifi - D13 (SS14M)
-
Hi,
OK, so the white smoke came out of the board. I still don't know why - I had the 12V on and connected my laptop's USB - needless to say the USB on the laptop is giving endless issues at the moment, telling me that it is not supplying enough power, even with nothing plugged in.
Nevertheless, component 'D13 - SS14M' has let the white smoke come out - so I need to replace this, but I don't know which model of chip?
Other component that went was: AP7361C-33E-13 --- will replace too.
Any help/ideas about the 'D13' one?
Regards

This is another example of why not to have your laptop plugged into mains when you use the usb port. It is a known issue

SS14 from Vishay or any other 1A Schottky diode with a 40V rating.
You might want to look over where the ground fault is to prevent damage to other equipment or worse; its generally faulty equipment or faulty wiring. An RCD is highly recommended to avoid such issues.

@bearer Thank you! Yeah, the RCD did not trip.... so...
-
@percar Thank you. I've had such a lot of problems like this - though the workmanship of the electrical wiring is questionable

@Phaedrux Thank you!

Check the negative wire between the PSU output and the Duet in particular.

That just implies the fault is between equipment or the fault current is too low to be detected or RCD faulty. If you just have the one RCD and not one on each circuit its possible for current to flow between equipment without the RCD tripping.

@dc42 Will do!
