Hotend fan shutting off too early
-
Hello, I have a Duet2wifi installed on a MP Delta pro.
I have most of the kinks worked out, but this one is my biggest problem right now.
As soon as the print finishes, the heater shuts off and the printer homes away from the print, which is what I want, BUT, the hotend fan will also shut off, before it's cooled down, creating the chance of clogs.
I was using fan 0 for the HE, I read someone suggesting to use the parts cooling fan in fan 0, and H0 cooling fan in the other slots, so I did that, updated the changes through configurator, still shutting off after the print too early.
Could it be something in my end gcode on the slicer?

@akuma211 You defined fans 0 and 1 as non-thermostatic part cooling fans and fan 2 as the hot end heat sink cooling fan which is set to run thermostatically with heater 1. So far so good. But then you've mapped fans 0,1 and 2 to tool 1 such that all 3 will be treated as part cooling fans - not so good.
So change this line...........
M563 P0 S"Part Cooling" D0 H1 F0:1:2 ;to this ..........
M563 P0 S"Tool 0" D0 H1 F0:1 ; or whatever name you want the tool to be -"part cooling" is not a good name for a tool which has an extruder drive and a heater associated with it as well as fans. The important thing is that you remove Fan 2 from that M563.

Thank you!
I'll update my settings and do a test print! -
@akuma211 To elaborate, the firmware will take any M106 commands that are in a slicer gcode file, and apply them to any fans that are associated with a tool as if those fans are part cooling fans. So what is likely to have happened is that you slicer end code has an M106 S0 which will turn off any and all part cooling fans, and because you had mapped fan 2 (as well as fans 0 and 1) to the tool, then that M106 S0 will turn off all 3 fans.

@deckingman that explains what happened. I was having trouble with the part cooling fans early in the install, turned out I didn't crimp the wire correctly on, and I was messing with the config files.
I remember changing that section in config trying to get the fan working, and now you showed me what it affected lol.
Appreciate the help fixing it. Now I see myself looking at the smart effector, instead of the nozzle tip piezo sensor, this hobby is never ending lol
