    Hi
I was in the process of updating my PanelDue 4.3 ( V2 board) (purchased Sept 2016)

It has been working fine for just over 4 years and I've updated it in the past without problem

AS per normal i'd disassembled from case and completely disconnected from my Duet2Wifi
Id read that due to its age it couldn't be flashed with 3 --- firmware but could accept 1.24

So i followed the update procedure
Plugged into USB and confirmed that the screen worked and has was showing 1.23.2 as the currently installed firmware ( Oh how i wished id left it at that 🙂 )
Pressed and held the Erase button followed by the reset button as per the procedure and .......nothing
No back light or anything . Isn't recognized as a USB Comm device by Windows 10.
Tried various cables including 1 i know for sure is a data cable not just power = Nothing

Tried a USB monitor There is a 0.08 VDC drop when i plug it in and an amp draw of 10mA
the reset button works in as much as when pressed it the amp draw goes to zero then back to 10mA when released.
If anybody has any experience or idea of what i can try next it would be much appreciatted
    Thanks in advance

      Try a different port/cable/PC.
In device manager, try View > show hidden devices

Try the erase for more than 1 sec and then reset combo again.

Has the PCB screen connector loosened?

if you Connect the Screen to your Duet does the Backlight work?
like Phaedrux mentioned.. my USB Ports on the Back of the PC doesn't work for
such an Update Procedure via BOSSA... only the Ports on the Front

          PCB screen connector looks fine
Ive tried on laptop and desk PC with a couple of cables ....Nada

Think its time to look for another solution . Just seriously disappointed by the mine field of Duet / Panel due upgrading.
Even when the hardware works matching so many different versions of firmware , screen firmware etc is a bind.

Ah well Thanks for the reply
          Cheers

              @Phaedrux & NeueKlasse

              Well what do you know

Had decided to consider the board dead

Then got to thinking well is the LCD dead or the interface daughter board ?????? Which to order / replace?

While looking closely at the daughterboard i decided to re flow the USB socket pins . Nothing to loose as it was dead
( i remember reading that extreme care was needed on the earlier board(s) so as not to rip off the USB sockets)
I had some "PCB repair / reflow flux" and used the finest tip of my cheapo solder station

Reassembled the boards and it now works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your tips and advice . While im getting quite good at diagnosing things, it always great to hear from others and cross check my thinking process. Cheers

Glad you didn't give up and fixed it before I could even get back to you.
