      Dear Duet3D Team,
we recently bought a Duet 2 WiFi and connected it to our Ender 3 V2 in order to upgrade it to dual extrusion. Everything worked fine except the stepper motor driver E1 which blew up immediately after addressing it (see picture below).
      IMG_0230.JPG
The second stepper motor we used is the same type as the one that came with the Ender. We checked both stepper motor and wires after the incident and couldn't detect an issue.
We used the RepRap Firmware Configuration Tool to update the config.g file for two extruders as shown below.

      ; Drives
      M569 P0 S0 ; physical drive 0 goes backwards
      M569 P1 S0 ; physical drive 1 goes backwards
      M569 P2 S1 ; physical drive 2 goes forwards
      M569 P3 S0 ; physical drive 3 goes backwards
      M569 P4 S0 ; physical drive 4 goes backwards

      M566 X600.00 Y600.00 Z60.00 E300.00:300.00 ; set maximum instantaneous speed changes (mm/min)
      M203 X9000.00 Y9000.00 Z600.00 E6000.00:6000.00 ; set maximum speeds (mm/min)
      M201 X500.00 Y500.00 Z120.00 E5000.00:5000.00 ; set accelerations (mm/s^2)

      M84 S30 ; Set idle timeout

We are unable to detect the fault ourselves and are hoping to get some insights here.
      Thanks in advance!

There is a hole in the chip, the only additional information would come from the output of M122 and errors on the usb/web interface like short to ground on driver 4 or similar when trying to move the driver

Yes, we would see a short-to-ground error in the web interface after the driver failed

I purchased the board via filafarm on November 2nd, would this be applicable for replacement under warranty?

I'm sure Phaedrux or one of the others will be along shortly to approve a warranty replacement after verifying the fault isn't the motor or wiring as the board is still under the 6 month warranty and purchased from an authorized reseller.

Maybe elaborate on how you tested the wiring and motor while you wait?

Thank you very much bearer! We measured the resistance of both components

It appears you may have suffered infant mortality on that driver. Please contact Filafarm and initiate a warranty exchange. Include a link to this thread as authorization.

Do be sure to double check and identify your motor phases and wiring crimps etc before trying the new board.

I will do that! Thank you!
