    Ok so I have my new board installed and all the motors move. Haven't even checked if it's,the right direction yet. I did some reading and my 4.75-30v NPN SENSOR (922CL1.5-B4N-Z475) https://www.pepperl-fuchs.com/global/en/classid_143.htm?view=productdetails&prodid=4033#cad thanks a link to a data sheet.

    I found a few links on here that says I can use it. But my sensor says it pulls 5mA and supply's only 100mA out the signal wire. On another post I saw all I need is a 1k resistor on the signal wire if I tap the 5v source off the expansion board PIN number 1. I scared to hook it up and just want to clarify this is what I need on the signal wire.

    I don't think I'm forgetting anything. Thanks in advance.

      I suggest the same wiring as for an NPN inductive Z probe, see https://duet3d.com/wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe#NPN_output_normally-open_inductive_or_capacitive_sensor. However, as your endstops can work on 5V, it should be safe to power them from 5V and connect the output directly to the endstop input without the diode.

        You are awesome that worked perfectly!

        I got my x and y axis dialed in Y measurement distance wise.

          Ok all axis are working correctly except for Z. I think it is trying to use a probe. I can run and M119 to check the state of the three inductive sensors and they are not triggered the I can move the axis to there end stops to trigger. I run M119 to check the states again and all three change state but but when I try to home the Z it just crashes.

          Should I make a new thread for this question and put it in the firmware section? BTW thank you DC42 for the response.

          On another note I had all 3 axis and my extruder set to 256x with no interpolation and they can't barely move at 300mm a second. If I go in and set them up like my old controller board at 16x microstepping it will dry run at 900mm a second. I'm thinking it my be my stepper driver pulses being sent may have hit a cap. Is there a max pulses that I can be sent if so can it be raised?

            You need to set up the homez.g and homeall.g files according to whether you are homing Z with an endstop switch or a Z probe. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Configuring_RepRapFirmware_for_a_Cartesian_printer#Homing_Z_using_a_Z_probe and the following section.

                    I get that but my question was more around whether the diode I linked to would work for the application as I have them in bucket loads

                      Well it's not a Schottky type, but David mentions that you can get away with a normal small signal diode.
                      I would say try it before connecting it to your Duet, measure the voltage you get…

                        You can try it, but that's not a Schottky diode so the forward voltage may be too high for it to work.
