      Hi
      I am planning to use a 3 Watt high power LED (700milliamps at 5vDC) to light my print surface.

      I just want to double check that it can be powered from a spare Fan connector without problems.

            Fuses 15A for bed, 7.5A for stepper drivers and extruder heaters, 1A for fans.
            5V current limit 2.0A total on 5V and 3.3v, including the internal current consumption (around 200-300mA), any PanelDue or other display, and any endstops/Z probes that draw significant power.

            I think you'll be ok. What other draw will you have from connected fans or on the 5v supply?

                @pierre52 And how many milliamps do they use? Add the draw together and see if it's below the limits.

                  @phaedrux I do not have data sheets for either fan. The other options are to connect it to the Panel Due 5v and GND. Other option is to wire a buck converter to the 12v PSU direct.

                    Well since your other fans are 12v that makes it difficult to use it on Fan2 since the other fans are 12v. You'd need to provide it a separate 5v supply anyway. One option would be to simply connect it to the 5v pin on the jumper select block.

                    Or if you want it always on just direct to a 5v source as you've already identified.

                    If you're not using a panel due I think you'll be under the 2a limit for 5v.
