      @dc42 Ok, we tested with the pause for probe deploy as you suggest.

      G30 now deploy the probe, but the endstop doesn't recognize that it is being activated. DWC "see" the activation in the status area, but not trigger it.

      Doing HomeZ don't deploy the probe despite the delay. However, M42 or M401/M402 works, but this only demonstrate the sucesfull solenoid pin activation.

      I suspect that the problem is in our Z endstop flag that is in it's trigger status when the probe is retracted and stay in this position until the probe is released for the probing at G28, so the Zhome always think is in Z=0.
      When the solenoid release the probe, el endstop waits for be triggered again by the flag when its pushed by the probe. Once retracted, the flag back to the endstop active status.

      In Marlin, it works because there is a define that use endstops only for homing: home x, home y, deploy probe, trigger Z endstop, retract probe and ignore the endstop status after that. Doesn't matter the Z endstop remain active after probing.
      We think Duet are monitoring endstops at all times so no probe deploy or z-endstop are beeb triggered because is already done.

      We will prototype a new flag that it release the activated status when the probe is retracted and check if we are right.

        Ok @dc42 , tested with a probe flag that doesn't activate when the probe is in retracted position. Same behaviour.

        The Z endstop is only activated in a small area of probe flag movement (±4mm). When activated by hand it is seen in the status goes from 0 to 1000 so it works ok.

        The G30 command obeys the deployprobe.g file by releasing the probe, but it does not detect that the endstop is being activated, while this change is seen in the DWC status, as well as in the LED of the Z endstop.

        When doing homeall.g the probe is never deployed. So, it doesn't obey the deployprobe.g file.
        However, if I enter the solenoid activation lines before the G30 in homez.g, it doesn't deploy it either, but it does detect the activation of the endstop, stopping the Z axis motor when triggered by hand.

            @marcossf To help @dc42 troubleshoot this, please can you send M122 and post the response. This will show firmware version and if you are using SBC, as well as other useful information.

                      @marcossf, thanks.

                      I've just tried a configuration similar to your, and it is working for me. I have connected a LED to io3.out to simulate your solenoid. When i execute a single G30 command, the LED lights up, then goes out when I trigger the probe.

                      I am running the 3.3beta3 candidate firmware. Therefore it is possible that there is a bug in the 3.2.2 firmware that you are running, which is already fixed. Please try the 3.3beta firmware when we release it, which we hope will be later today.

                          @marcossf, here is one thing that could be confusing you. When you send G30, RRF will only deploy and retract the probe if it thinks it is not already deployed. To tell whether the probe is already deployed, it counts the number of M401 deploy calls that have not been undone by M402. So if you were to send M401 to deploy the probe, then retract it by sending M42 P0 S0 (instead of sending M402), then RRF would think the probe was already deployed, and not deploy it when you send G30.

                            @dc42 Let me clarify.

                            G30 command deploy the probe sucesfully BUT despite being activated the endstop (which I can check in the DWC status Z-sensor or in the LED of the endstop itself).
                            Finally the G30 ends when retract it for timeout? or end of movement.

                            Any M280 P0 Snnn are ignored.

                            When Z Home or HomeAll never deploy it.
                            However, when we do a home, even though it does not deploy the probe, we touch the endsop manually and it activates, which it doesn't do in a G30 command.

                                  there something in the configurator that creates this.
                                  i am using M401/M402 explicitly to couple the probe as part of my macros.
                                  you have to use conditional gcodes to detemine if the probe is attached.

                                  i was able to use both G1 H moves as well as G30 with the probe when picked up.

                                    @sinned6915 Thank you very much. In our case we need to adapt your code and macros a bit because we do not have to take a sled, but when we do a test we do not lose anything.
                                    The only thing the solenoid does is deploy or hide a probe. Once deployed, it activates an optoendstop by touching the probe to the bed. Simple.

                                    It is quite clear that it is something in the homing files or in the sw configuration we have, since the activation and the hw part is proven to work.

                                    We came from Marlin and RRF its new for us. Simple things like a homing turn into this "jam" 😁

                                      @marcossf i think you need some logic statements in your macros to checks/verify actuation.
                                      my macros work b/c i am checking the conditions of the circuit via probe value.
                                      you could easily add another sensor as an endstop to veify engagment. i dont know if i would use the solenoid trigger as that check, but a seperate sensor.

                                        I think you said that G30 does deploy the probe, but triggering the opto endstop does not stop the G30 movement. Is that right? Does the Z probe reading in the web interface jump to 1000 if you trigger it during G30 movement?

                                            @marcossf, thanks. I can now see the problem. Your config.g file includes this line:

                                            So you are driving the Z axis from an expansion board (I presume a Duet 3 Tool Board) at address 121. However, the firmware limitations document at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_firmware_configuration_limitations#Section_Temporary_limitations includes this:

                                            Endstop switches and Z probes connected to the main board cannot control motors on an expansion board. This is planned to be fixed in release 3.4.

                                            If you use a Z probe then the Z motors must be connected to the main board. This is planned to be fixed in release 3.4.

                                            So in order to get this working completely, you will need to connect your Z motor to the main board instead.

                                            However, RRF 3.3beta3 released yesterday already includes some of the changes to remove this limitation. If you upgrade to that release, then a G30 command should stop the Z motor even if it is connected to the tool board.

                                            A remaining issue that is not fixed in 3.3beta3 is that when the Z motor stops during probing, there may be a very slight overshoot due to transmission delay over the CAN bus, and there is no correction for this. This overshoot should not matter when doing a single Z probe e.g. for homing Z; however when doing mesh bed probing, the error will build up with each probe attempt. As a result, the accumulated error may cause an apparent tilt in the Y direction.

                                            We have work in progress to undo any overshoot after probing. Meanwhile, it can be reduced by using a low Z probing speed. When homing Z, you may wish to do a fast G30 command at a high probing speed (M558 F parameter) first, then lift Z a few mm and do another G30 at a low probing speed.
