Suggestions for DC42
-
David,
I've done this myself and read lots of posts from people wanting to know where to find the firmware, especially when it's experimental. You yourself have to tell people where it is, even if it's just to say "it's in the usual place".
So, suggestion number 1 is to put a link to the firmware tree in your sig, alongside the links you have to Escher and miscsolutions. Then whenever you announce a new firmware release, people can just click the link in your sig to get straight to it.
Suggestion number 2 is to update the Wiki https://duet3d.com/wiki/Where_to_get_Duet_and_Duet_WiFi_firmware_and_tools which shows where to find the official binaries, to include a link to the experimental edge folder as well (along with appropriate warnings etc).
Just a thought (or 2)

@CaLviNx:
with number 2 .
Why dont you just dive in and update the wiki, you are more than capable !
What me? Thanks for the vote of confidence I am to computing what Cyril Smith is to hang gliding. I wouldn't know where to start and knowing my luck, I'd probably erase the entire Wiki.

Thanks Ian i have updated the wiki - you can direct link to the beta section:

I suggest add links to latest firmware also to DWC for those who not using PanelDue.
p.s. btw, I suggested earlier automatic firmware update for internet-enabled setups, but it seems that this feature isn't very popular and my messages left without answers.

@CaLviNx:
Nah not a fan of automatic updates… how to piss people off in one easy lesson, just look at Microshaft
I'm not talking about FULLY automatic updates, I just say that two simple buttons like "check for updates" and "install update" will be very useful for people.
