As the title says my new duetwifi blew a driver during initial setup.

only thing changed to the config to this point was setting it to corexy mode. Did home all and poof driver let out smoke,I didn't even get to set motor directions…

Ask your supplier for a replacement Duet under warranty. We do see a small number of driver chips failing for no apparent reason, I guess it's infant mortality. Considering how many driver chips we have shipped in Duets, it's a very small proportion. Nevertheless, i raised this with the manufacturer of the driver chips earlier this month, to see if we can get it down further.

Btw for statistical purposes, please tell us:

            • model number of the stepper motor it was connected to
            • what current it was set to
            • what VIN voltage you were using.

I hate to say it. But the new board is DOA.

Eek. Top board, second chip from the left, half way down on the right?

That's the same driver, (Y)? I would see if there is something happening with your Y motor wiring that's blowing that driver. Possibly an intermittent connection on 1 coil?

The bottom board is the board that I originally bought. The top one with wires is the brand new one, which I haven't powered at all. It came blown like that.
Both are on the Y driver.
