6HC limit switch connections
-
Silly question but I would rather do it right to begin with.
The i/o connector on the 6HC board has 3.3V, 5V, GND, iox.in and iox.out.
Assuming a standard on/off type limit switch, do I connect the switch between io in and io out? -

If you were using a non-powered micro-switch with a NC connection you would likely connect the switch from IN to GND and specify that the input pullup should be enabled.

@fcwilt, yes, I mean a standard NC non powered micro switch.
OK, I did not see that coming .... in to gnd ... what is the 'out' line generally used for?
Thanks! -

Thanks! It's an multiple purpose output - one use is to drive the signal input of a servo to move the servo to the desired position.
