Installing capacitor for Power Loss recovery
-
I'm finally upgrading to 24V for power loss recovery benefits and I ordered the 10000 uF capacitor that is recommended in documentation. Any solutions on which method is best to install it? I have stuff for soldering or heat shrink splicing for example so any ideas are welcome.

@djarmag if you are using a power supply with several sets of output terminals for the same output, then I suggest you connect the capacitor to a spare set.
-
@dc42 the 24V Meanwell Power supply (SP-750-24) only has a single set. Should I make a terminal block or what solution can you suggest?
-
@djarmag it looks like you can use several ring terminals on each of those output studs.

I use 5 position Wago 221 lever nuts to make power busses for my printer. They work with solid or stranded wire, gauges from 24 to 12, up to 32A. It makes it very easy to add on things you didn't think of when you built the printer.

The wire size range is rather amazing.
Where do you get them?

@fcwilt I ordered some from amazon.com at least once, and ordered more of them from some other place I can't recall now.
You can buy cheap Chinese knock-offs via ali-express... well, you know...
When I first got them I tested the grip on stranded and solid wires by pulling hard and couldn't get the wire to come out.
I have printed some snap-in holders to mount them on t-slot, etc. I have found that hot-melt glue will hold them down to appropriate surfaces, too.

@mrehorstdmd yea I used those at my other company, wago came by and gave a bunch of free samples. Since I'm using mains heated bed, I'll have lots of headroom. I figured it was simple and I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track. I appreciate everyone's feedback!
