EXP1XD no status light
-
Ive been using 3 EXP1XD boards with the Mainboard 6HC for a while. Suddenly one of them stopped blinking. Only the 5V light is on. The Status and the green light are all off when I turn the board on.
I tried to reset the board with jumper wire but no help. The status light should be blinking and show an error code based on the flashing frequency but there is no documentation about what does it mean when the status light refuses to turn on.I suppose there must have been an overcurrent acting on the pins from an industrial servo driver that might have caused this issue
What do you think? Is there something I might try before throwing it to the trash?

@aronmeszaros does it behave like this with nothing other than VIN power applied? I assume the other LEDs to indicate the poower supply voltages are showing correctly?
-
@aronmeszaros it sounds like either the MCU is blown or the bootloader has become erased. If the latter then the bootloader can be reinstalled using a Atmel ICE. Which country are you in?

@dc42 Thank you for the reply, Im afraid the MCU is blown because this issue happened right after a short circuit that was accidentally made on a CN1 port of a servo drive
That could have forced 24V into the StepDir pins of the expansion board and burn the MCU;
Btw its Slovakia, Bratislava -
@t3p3tony Only VIN power is applied nothing else and I double checked the power supply

@aronmeszaros shorting one of the step or direction outputs to 24V would certainly blow the MCU because there is no protection on those outputs.
