      Hey!

Have anyone thought of making a wiring harness for the DC42 kossel for Duet Wifi/Ethernet and the new PCB effector?
I'd pay to have this made properly with all connectors, correct wire gauge etc.

There are at least 2 variables, i.e. how long, and whether for a PT100 or a thermistor connection.

I'm following your build guide, and PT100 sensor 🙂

The 6 way plug caused me particular problems and the fact that you supply a spare suggests I’m not alone.

In my experience the results are a bit hit and miss unless you use the (very) expensive official crimp tools.

Perhaps you could offer pre-wired cable for the 6 way as an option.

Ideally it would have plugs / ferrules on the other end but even unterminated would be a great help.

As for length, E3D supply their V6 heaters with a 1m cable as standard which seems to be enough even for an XL. (Maybe with the option to request custom lengths if you’re feeling generous / bored.)

Might the smarteffector at some point be a serial bus plus power "module" with only 3 wire required?

I pulled the socket housing for the 6 way plug off my smarteffector and connected the hotend heater and part fan using dupont 2 pin plugs, easier to terminate and replace and the pins are standard 2.54mm spacing. No issues since.

My problem was not the plug coming loose but the lack of strain relief causing the wires to break from the crimps.

Yes, but that will have to wait for the next generation Duet.

That's ok on a 24V system, but on a 12V system the heater current is too high for Molex KK or Dupont connectors. That's why we (reluctantly) chose the Molex Microfit connector.

                  I didn't consider that as I'm running 24v. Thanks.
