@matt7-0 Forgot to mention but I am not using a heated bed which further confused me about why my paneldue is still showing options for the heated bed but none for my hotend.

@matt7-0 have you assigned everything to a tool using M563? best to post your full config

@matt7-0 There is a space between C and the following number, although I doubt it will cause such a big error. Also you define heater 1 but map the tool to heater 0, so I'd change the heater section to

                ; Heaters
M140 H-1 ; disable heated bed (overrides default heater mapping)
                M308 S0 P"e0temp" Y"thermistor" T100000 B4725 C7.06e-8; sensor 0
                M950 H0 C"e0heat" T0 ; create heater and map sensor 0
                M143 H0 S270
                M307 H0 B0 S1.00

Changing the M563 line as @jay_s_uk suggested should work, too.

@jay_s_uk Thanks, the heater has now showed up in the paneldue which is a step forwards, but temp is still showing 2000 degrees.

@chrishamm Thanks, I have now corrected the C value error and the tool error but the temp is still currently displaying 2000 degrees.

I have attached the updated config file.

@matt7-0 your config looks correct. can you measure the resistance of the thermistor at the plug connections and see what you get?

Can you send M122 and M98 P"config.g" in the Gcode console in DWC and post the results?

Is your PanelDue firmware also version 3.3?

Do you mean the main firmware is at 3.0 or 3.3? Are you sure DWC is at 3.3?

Are you certain the thermistor is an E3D semitek?

If you power on with the thermistor disconnected does the temp change to -273?

@jay_s_uk Sorry for the late reply, it reads 1.034K ohms.
Is this a good value or is there something wrong with the board?

@matt7-0 sounds like you might have a PT1000 then and not a termistor

@jay_s_uk , @Phaedrux and @chrishamm thank you so much for all the suggestions and help. Phaedrux, it turned out that I actually was not using reprap firmware 3 but instead had been using 2.03, I must have not completed the update on the firmware. It all works now which i'm very happy about. Thank you all for your time and help.
